2007 Porsche 987 Boxster with Bose.

Got the correct kit to connect a new head unit (Pioneer SPH-DA160DAB) to the Bose amplifier via the MOST fibre bus from InCarTec (Porsche 987 and 997 stereo fitting kit with CANbus ignition and Bose retention, silver - [FK-9591-IGNB]).

It included the facia trim and all the bits to connect up the new head unit including a converter for the AM/FM aerial lead. I dont have steering wheel controls, I believe there is another kit which includes the connections for that.

Instructions which come with the kit are brief but its not too diffficult as the plugs and sockets only fit in one location.

I made the mistake of pushing the unit all the way in when test fitting it, then discovered I couldnt get it out again. Eventually took hours to get out again. NEVER going to allow that again so modified the side panels which secure the head unit in double DIN space.

This is one of the side panels, both sides are mirrors of each other.

I cut away the prongs which hold the unit in place and stop it being pulled out.

Stil a very snug fit without them. Looks fine with the trim when finished.

The plugs and sockets from the Porsche.

There are two multi-pin connectors, the fibre plug and two aerial connectors.

The side panels and facial attached to the head unit.

The loom from the InCarTec kit (now wrapped to make it a bit more professional).

Hope the close up photos will help someone.

The pioneer head unit only outputs telephone and sat nav on the front speaker channels.

Using the InCarTec Porsche Bose fibre interface you therefore need to connect the front speaker outputs.

Handbrake sensor cable affects more than you would think. When connected correctly it goes to ground when the handbrake is applied. When not connected you can not access some video content which is fair enough but it also stops configuration of Bluetooth and other custmisation options!!!

Just ground the cable on the bodywork of the car as a test. Can always connect to the handbrake later on.

I did find at one point that the radio and USB functioned correctly but I didnt have any sound from the phones satnav or telephone.
Found that diconnecting the bluetooth and then re-pairing it to the head unit fixed that issue.
